What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is an induction of a relaxed state of mind that establishes a reliable communication between the conscious and subconscious mind.
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a psychological healing method that makes use of a combination of therapy and hypnosis to treat problems.
Difference between a Stage Hypnotist and a Clinical Hypnotist.
A stage hypnotist is a skilled person who heavily relies on the confidence of his/her approach and chooses subjects who are readily willing to participate in his/her task for entertainment. Alternatively, a clinical hypnotist relies on his/her knowledge of the human psyche in a caring and compassionate way. Clinical Hypnotists understand the phenomena surrounding hypnosis as well as understand the client who is prepared to accept help and make change. Usually a clinical hypnotist is a professional person such as a doctor, social worker, or licensed therapist. They have gone through intensive training not only on hypnosis but also on therapeutic techniques to help you stop unwanted behaviors and develop new ones.
What is Clinical Hypnosis?
Clinical Hypnosis can only be conducted by a medical or mental health professional. Some people believe that they cannot be hypnotized, but the reality is that people seek out clinical hypnotists to help them solve a problem or change a behavior. In other words, they are choosing to be hypnotized. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. Clinical Hypnotists only facilitate the condition to help you reach the state of mind that helps you to change the behavior. Similarly, it is important to note that no one can hypnotize you on things that are against your morals or beliefs. In hypnosis, you will only accept the things that you believe.
What is Clinical Hypnosis used for?
Hypnosis can be used to help with a variety of issues and behaviors. At Dupre Hypnosis, we provide hypnosis to deal with anxiety, certain phobias, nail biting, hair pulling, excoriation (skin picking), public speaking, sleeping issues, fear of MRI, fear of flying, and other issues. Some of these services may be covered by insurance. Please call our office for details.
Age Regression Clinical Hypnosis
Cristina is also trained in Age Regression (in this life) hypnosis in which unique clinical hypnosis techniques are used to heal past trauma or painful memories. During the clinical hypnosis session, the hypnotherapist helps the client to recall memories and feelings caused by negative past experiences that are now affecting the client’s present reality. This form of hypnotherapy is very powerful because it gives new insight to the client who is able to “rescue the self stuck back in time”. The client is able to change painful encoded beliefs and emerge with a new sense of self. New behaviors and feelings become part of the adult self. Age regression sessions are 1.5-2 hours in duration and the cost is $300 per session.
Deposits are required for all hypnosis sessions which are half of the cost of the session. Deposits can be paid online.
